Seattle

seattle flyer

It was a crisp fall day in Seattle, just perfect for the more than 6,000 that came from all over the Northwest to march and sound out against the Iraq War.  Led by veterans of the Iraq conflict, as well as other wars, National and international solidarity groups, labor, families and students - many for the first time - our voices and those of the entire anti-war effort in 10 other cities could not have been more clear - END THE WAR NOW!

There was no mistaking our demands for Congress to stop funding the killing that is going on in our name, to bring the troops home, and to support them by taking care of them when they get here!

Cadence and chorus, chants, percussion and music  between rallys at Judkins Park and Pioneer Square caught the attention of hundreds of bystanders, as well as the media.  See below for reports, and video and photos.

Seattle Mobilization

March Downtown

The Oct 27th mobilization in Seattle kicked off with a crowd of over 4,000 gathering in Judkins Park.  Speakers Fatimah Magsombol of the Alliance for a Just and Lasting Peace in the Philippines and Michael Dixon of the Seattle Black Panther Party spoke during the youth orientated pre-march gathering to a crowd expecting anything from a lackluster turnout to an earth-shaking record breaker.
