Salt Lake City, Utah -- Today, as we come together once again in this great city, we raise our voices in unison to say to President Bush, to Vice President Cheney, to other members of the Bush Administration (past and present), to a majority of Congress, including Utah’s entire congressional delegation, and to much of the mainstream media: “You have failed us miserably and we won’t take it any more.”

Idaho Does Salt Lake

At 5 am on October 27^th fifty seven sleepy Idahoans loaded onto a chartered bus in Boise headed to Salt Lake City. Six more piled aboard a minivan. Students from Monroe, Valley View, Garden City, Sacred Heart and Pioneer School of Arts elementary schools, North Junior High, and Boise, Bishop Kelly, Timberline and Centennial High Schools and Boise State University were among those on board. In Hailey another busload of activists was heading out as were car loads of people from Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Lava Hot Springs.

About 750 people [local papers estimated over 1,000-ks] rallied against the U.S. war and occupation of Iraq in Salt Lake City, one of eleven regional centers for a nationwide demonstration coordinated by United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ). Almost one fifth of the protesters came from Boise, Hailey, and Idaho Falls, Idaho with several from Colorado, Wyoming and Nevada.
